Information you provide directly
When you apply for a role or contact us through this site, we may collect:
- Full name
- Email address

- Curriculum vitae (CV) / résumé — optional; you may apply without uploading a file, but if you choose to attach one it will be processed as described below
- Cover message or any other information you choose to include
We need your name, email, and phone number to receive and respond to your application. A CV is not mandatory; without core contact details we cannot process your application through this form.

When you visit this website, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) and content delivery network (Cloudflare), including:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring URL
- Device type
This technical data is used to maintain site security, prevent fraud (via Cloudflare Turnstile), and ensure the site functions correctly. It does not identify you personally.
Sensitive personal data
We do not intentionally collect any special category data (such as health information, ethnicity, or religious beliefs) through this website. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your application unless it is directly relevant.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Receive, review, and process job applications
- Contact you regarding your application or future opportunities
- Comply with our legal obligations as an employer
- Maintain the security and integrity of this website
- Prevent fraudulent or automated submissions (anti-bot measures)
- Improve the functionality and content of this site
We will not use your personal data for marketing purposes, nor will we sell or rent it to any third party.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — where you have submitted an application form, you are giving us your consent to process the data you have provided for recruitment purposes. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for website security, fraud prevention, and routine technical logging, where our legitimate interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) — where processing is necessary to comply with our legal obligations as an employer or regulated care provider.
5. When and With Whom We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with the following categories of recipients only:
- Our HR team — your application is delivered to hr@careplushomecare.co.uk for recruitment review.
- Resend (transactional email) — when you apply for a role, your application is submitted to our website, which sends a single email to our HR team via Resend, a UK/EU-aligned email delivery service. If you attach a CV or other file, it is included with that email. Resend acts as a data processor on our behalf only to transmit that message (and any attachment); it does not use your data for marketing. View Resend’s privacy policy at resend.com.
- Vercel (hosting) — our website and the server that receives job applications are hosted on Vercel, which processes access logs and routes form submissions. View their privacy policy at vercel.com.
- Cloudflare (security & CDN) — Cloudflare Turnstile is used for bot detection on our application form. View Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com.
- Legal or regulatory authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of individuals.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This recruitment website is designed to be minimal in its use of cookies. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies that may be set are:
- Cloudflare Turnstile — a functional cookie used to verify that form submissions are from a human (anti-bot challenge). This cookie does not track you across other websites.
- Session cookies — short-lived, anonymous cookies used by our hosting infrastructure to route requests. These expire when you close your browser.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the application form.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain application data for a maximum of 12 months from the date of submission. This allows us to consider candidates for suitable roles that arise during that period. After 12 months, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
If we make you an offer of employment, your data will be retained as part of your employee record in line with our employment data retention policy (typically 6 years after employment ends, in accordance with UK employment law).
Automatically collected technical data (server logs) is retained for no longer than 30 days.
8. How We Keep Your Information Safe
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Cloudflare Turnstile bot-detection on all forms
- Honeypot fields to detect and discard automated submissions
- Access to application data limited to authorised HR personnel only
- Application forms submitted only over HTTPS to our own systems before email delivery via Resend
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you submit personal data at your own risk.
9. Your Privacy Rights (UK GDPR)
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request).
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you can ask us to delete your personal data where there is no legitimate reason for us to continue processing it.
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — you can request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — where we process your data on the basis of consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hr@careplushomecare.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month in line with UK GDPR requirements.
10. Right to Complain
