Quality Control Officer – Omagh

Job Description

Care Plus are looking for a professional and approachable Quality Control Officer to join our Omagh office and help maintain the quality of our domiciliary care service.

You will support service users, Social Care Practitioners, office staff and managers, helping to ensure care packages meet the needs of our clients and that the service remains compliant with RQIA requirements and the NISCC Code of Practice. You will report to the QC Manager / Registered Manager.

The role includes visits in the community as well as office-based duties. You must be flexible in the hours you work and the areas you cover, willing to work out of hours when required and take a share of the on-call service on a rota basis.

• Help ensure the service complies with RQIA requirements, the Minimum Standards and the NISCC Code of Practice, and that policies are kept up to date
• Carry out risk assessments and service reviews
• Undertake supervisory visits and spot checks to ensure care plans are being followed
• Report and act on changes to care plans
• Support and train new Social Care Practitioners
• Participate in staff development, training and performance appraisals
• Attend meetings with multi-disciplinary teams and Social Services, and prepare and complete the required documentation
• Investigate and report complaints from RQIA, Social Services, service users, relatives and carers, taking appropriate action
• Provide cover for absent co-ordinators or Social Care Practitioners when required
• Participate in the on-call rota

Essential Criteria

• NVQ level 3 in H&SC
• Previous experience in Social Care
• Professional and approachable manner, with good communication skills
• Ability to reassure and support service users
• Ability to work with Social Care Practitioners, office staff and managers to maintain quality standards
• Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours work and participation in the on-call rota
