Social Care Practitioner – Kesh, Ederney & Lack

Job Description

Care Plus require caring individuals to cover Domiciliary care rotas in the Kesh, Ederney & Lack area of Fermanagh. We have a permanent block 4/3 morning to lunch rota in this area.

On our Block rotas you work Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday on Week 1 and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on Week 2 repeating. You will be contracted for a set number of hours each week on this basis.

To provide care for elderly, disabled and convalescent clients to enable them to remain in their own homes maintaining an independent lifestyle.

Sample of most common duties (full job description given upon application):

• Helping clients in and out of bed (using hoist if required), washing, dressing and toileting
• Bathing/showering client, Personal Care
• Meal Preparation
• Bed making, laundry duties, shopping
• Assisting with regular exercise (walks) where appropriate
• Record information on service plan sheets

Essential Criteria:

• Have the ability to take on a range of personal tasks in accordance with each client's Care Plan
• Have the ability to work as a team member
• Have use of a mobile phone
• Hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle
• Be willing to complete Care Certificate or equivalent qualification

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in a caring role
• SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
